a bit of a non-event for me - just a bunch of strawberry stalls?

Thanks Daewoo & David, we still had a good time on the Samoeng Loop, plus talking shop.

Samoeng booms in strawberry season, but the rest of the year it seems like a peaceful idyllic little hollow.

The Versys has been off the road for 3 months after my crash,so first time out it was a gentle run out to Samoeng & a bit of a potter around.

but alas, "yes we have no strawberries today."
It's out of season.

But they havea string of folksy bungalows


asking for 800-1,200 baht a night & I thought you'd only pay that if you were up from Bangkok & in need of some serenity.

has some scenic panoramic views over the Samoeng valley






Plus the temples a bit alright for a photo or two.







Take your time, don't rush & if you're in Samoeng, linger longer to check out Wat Pa Kluay.
Across the river, heading "north" towards Wat Chan, but before the Samoeng Resort.
1.6 kms from the market by the T Junction.

Samoeng 2015 Strawberry Festival is on for 12-15 February
