    Hi All,

Recently picked up my Versys from Udon.. Decided to take a nice ride along the Mekong and over night before heading to Chiang Mai...

Found this place last December and due to running late with the bike paper work / transfer.. Had the opportunity to visit again..
Sadly.. It was getting dark and I pulled in to a resort 100 metres down the road.. and found the place I was looking for when scouting around for dinner.

This has to be one of the hidden gems along this stretch.. Gerrie and his Thai wife have done a wonderful job.. They are extremely friendly.
Even if you don't over night (which you should) it is worth a stop for lunch and a drink and relax in the restaurant and enjoy the lovely scenery..
Great Thai / Lao food.. Half the staff are Thai and half Lao.

Just put the coord on Google Earth and find this: 211, Pha Tang, Sangkhom, Nong Khai, Thailand
It's just beside the Siam Bungalow Resort (you can use this name to search on GE)

    Hi All,

Quick update.. Rob and I did a quick ride this weekend from Chiang Mai to Udon..
    Stayed over night at Banmarrimkong.

Great food and even better.. Asked Gerrie if he can get some Beer Lao in - No problem..
(Seems a shame to be looking at the Mekong and Lao only to be drinking Heineken - I am not a Thai beer fan)

We paid 100 baht more and stayed in the rooms over looking the Mekong and Laos..
Really lovely rooms at 600 baht.

Thanks, looks like a nice place to stay.
Did you pass Na Haeo? As I remember there is an resort / hotel there also?
Next week I'm off to Nan/Phayao/CNX and I would like to make some field-trips between Loei and Nan (border area) so I need a place to sleep in between there.

The resort is as lovely as ever with three new additional attractions.

A lovely deck to sit outside and watch the world / Mekong
