Chiang Mai to Siem Reab

  1. What's the fastest route to use from Chiang Mai to Siem Reab?

Can it be done within 2 days? How long will border crossing to Cambodia via Poi Pet be?

Planned route is Chiang Mai - Lop Buri - Sara Buri - Prachinburi - Sa Kaew - Siem Reab

  2. BKK to Aranyaprathet is about 4 1/2 hours on the bus, so I guess about the same on a bike (plus any breaks, 'cause the buses don't stop).

Probably add about 1 hour to get around BKK...

Not sure how long from Chiang Mai to BKK...

It took me 3hours to cross the border, all the holdups are on the Thailand side with gamblers crossing for the casino... could be better, could be worse...

The Taxi's from the border to Siem Reap take about 2 1/2 hours... Hope that helps...

the best info on the process is http://www.talesofasia.com/cambodia-ove ... r-self.htm

    Cheers,

  3. Thanks. 3 hours is long!
Took only 1/2 and hour to cross Sadao border from Malaysia. With all the paperwork done.

I'll be bypassing BKK to avoid the traffic jams near the city.
