Towards the end of August and beginning of September is when the Akha have their swing festival. Usually for three days and about 150 days after rice planting. Different times at different villages. Some have been forced to forget their Akha ways by missionaries and at the highest point of the village where they put the swing a church has been built.
Yesterday i went to visit this village and asked when their festival is..... some said starting on Sept. 9th and some said on the 10th.

this is the old swing... they make a new one each year.
