Pak Nai at Nan, lake crossing on the 1026 highway

A great alternate ride in Nan is the 1026 that runs into Uttaradit. Much less traffic and you need to take the 100 Baht ferry trip across the lake as part of the adventure. The lake is netted for fish and fresh fried fish at a waterside eatery is delicious,
The car barge is pulled along and manouvered by a small longtail boat,

For those who have not been there it is a must do in Nan.

I'm with you Gary & love those out of the way lake ferry crossings in northern Thailand. They arrive out of the blue, always in the most scenic of places, regularly serviced by a good restaurant, & provide access to areas often of great beauty & interest.
