Hi guys
Here are some pics taken during my return ride home on 21/9/09 from PNP to BKK via route 4 and 48.
Not to forget the info and advise given by your guys were helpful and that gives me confidence to do the trip safely.
Hotel that I stayed @ USD$15.00 per night (no b/fast) " Mekong Palace" which is along the river and service is good although it is a bit old. Parking for bike during the day is at the fve foot way and the hotel staff will push it back to the lobby at night.....safe for bikes.
Breakfast at the local coffee shop....good and cheap
Ride out towards south on route 4 from Phnom Penh
Usual road users..........inclusive of pigs running across the road!!!!!
Some of the common road conditions alobng route 48....
and back to normal again.......
One of the bridge crossing.....
Approaching to Koh Kong...
Koh Kong Bridge......
Road toward Thai border....after bridge and toll house
Casino just next to border of Thai.......so called sustainable development!!!!!!!!!which is not suppose to be there....
Crossing the Cambodia border is just a breeze....not customs to declare just stamp passport and leave...no payment needed.....Thailand is just the same with customs declaration for bike and no need to pay any fees.
Thai road is so much smoother after riding in Cambodia.......
Overnight stay at Chantaburi....nice hotel " Eastern Hotel"with huge room and good bathroom...only @ 825baht with b/fast....good place to stay as food is aplenty as there are food stalls behind the hotel....evening up to 2.00pm.
Ride along RAMA IV in BKK.....towards Hualamphong
Staye for 2 nights @ White Orchid Hotel, Yaowarat Road....!300baht with b/fast....(internet booking is much cheaper...approx.. 1080baht)
Common scene in most "Chinatowns in major cities around the world.......Chaotic.........shark fins & seafood restaurants........
River ride just to kill time in BKK......cheap and nice.....
Some window shopping in BKK........after the river ride. Took the BTS train from Saphan Thaksin to Siam Central station @ 30 baht...fast and efficient........
Still my favourite place to visit in BKK is the Siam Paragon food department at ground floor....range of food and display quality is world class and the food court is the best that I've been and is much more beter than Singapore.
I intend to do the ride next time to complete my trip to Loas and CNX depsite the attempt was futile twice this year due to my employer cancellation of my leave last minute.
Some much for now.
Regards
Lip Meng
