If you happen to own an R3 you will notice that the throw (Spin) of the factory throttle tube is actually quite long. In fact on long rides you constantly need to rotate your hand on the throttle because at higher speed the wrist angle is very uncomfortable.
On my last trip to the states I brought back the Yamaha R6 throttle tube. I had heard from a few of my friends that the swap is great. After installing it and taking the moto for a spin the difference is quite significant. Throttle response is much quicker off idle and the throw to WOT is much shorter leaving your wrist at a very comfortable position.
(Factory throttle tube on moto and the R6 throttle tube in my hand. They look identical outside)
Unfortunately I did not take tech detail type pictures as I did not think I would ever post in a tech section somewhere but I thought this might be of interest to others here.
I am pretty certain you can get a R6 throttle tube at the Yamaha dealer or at the big liter bike places in BKK. Its well worth the swap out
Next up will be fab'ing a exhaust hangar lower to remove the higher factory one that is also the foot peg for the passenger. I have no intention of having a passenger on this moto. Its not designed for it so why not take them off and clean the moto up a bit.
