Opening Ceremony and Welcome Party with the organizers - Heron, Phuket Rider Club and all participating motorcycle clubs along with a welcome gift to the bikers arriving on the first day.

3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Tree planting to reduce global warming campaign by planting banana trees along the beach of Patong Beach
4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Formation of big bike riders in a procession of peace with travel and appreciation of the beauty of Phuket Island going along dolphins park, Patong Beach, Karon Beach, Kata Beach, Viewpoint, Nai Harn, Ya Nui Beach to Phrom Thep Cape and returning to the original route for the thank you for joining the party of Phuket Bike Week. The poster for this Lamphun party, is visible a few posts below, sorry not reproduced with the quote.
As nobody seems to have made a plan for this, although I know a few are attending:
I will be leaving from the first Gas Station on LHS of the Super Highway, south of the slip road that joins from the 121, outer ring road. Seems a sensible place for all heading out of CM from the Mae Rim end.
As nothing happens too early at these events, suggest meeting time of 6.30pm, which should also avoid CM rush hour.
Anyone knows wether this gas station is Green Leaf, or Caltex, please advise, but whichever its the first one after 121.

Maha Sara Kham Bike Week It's March 24, here is a list of hotels

1) The Takasila Hotel: Offers 4 star treatment and facilities (no pool). Parking is plentiful but unprotected except for the green sheeting overhead. Very clean, average food, a nice place to stay. Rooms are around 700-1200 baht a night

2) The Takasila Hotel Grand: This hotel is the sister hotel of the Takasila Hotel and is located right next door. It's a step down from the Takasila Hotel (say 3 1/2 stars) but quite satisfactory.
3) New Pattana Hotel: Dining room - same type parking as Taksila Hotel - pretty good rooms - located very near the Takasila hotel Rates are usually around 550 baht.

4) Pattana Hotel - located next to the New Pattana Hotel - it offers less expensive rooms. Often occupied by salespeople etc.
All four of these hotels are within 10 minutes of the bike week site. Easy to find. You probably want to check their website at

It's about five minutes from the Takasila hotel and 10 minutes from the bike week site. Clean- three and a half stars, around 600-700 baht.

The last hotel would be the "Your Place Hotel" http://www.yourplacehotel.com

It's new and looks like it would offer rooms around 550 to 700 a night. It's located about 5 minutes from the bike week site. I haven't been in there, but if you think it might be worthwhile I can stop in and check the place out for you.

The town has three or four low profile resort type places that usually rent out at around 600-800 a night. They typically don't have restaurants attached, although restaurants can easily be found in Sarakham. Again if you think it's important I can stop in at a couple of them to get more info. To the best of my knowledge there are no underground parking lots in Sarakham.
