paved road from pai to chiang dao ?

Hello Northern Thailand experts .

Again I need your help planning our next trip
Actually, it's not the next trip, but the one after that.

The January 2024 trip is fully planed and I am starting to gather information for the January 2025 trip

(You cant stop a tradition and certainly not a good one)

I would very much like to know,

is there a paved road from Pai towards the northeast - towards Chiang Dao (Kung Lum)?

No there isnt, but there is a relatively good dirt road from Pai to Wiang Heang….

If you want paved, ride from Pai to Mae Taeng and then go North on the 107. Chiang Dao is only another 35km from Mae Taeng.

Pai - Wiang Haeng - Chiang Dao. Muddy trails and mighty mountains This was a great dirt and tarmac ride from Pai to Chaing Dao via Wiang Haeng. There’s plenty of different ways to get to Wiang Haeng from Pai,..I chose to ride down hwy 1095 to the entrance of the Huay Nam Dang National Park...
