The Kiwi Cruiser has requested a GTR dinner in Uttaradit & I am ok for that.
Ben has the hotel, food, drink suggestions; so I will let him post them, as Im still busy catching up from my Savannakhet visa run ride along the 'Khong.

The format that seems to suit the most people is a hotel that is within a short walk of an eating / drinking location;

[format=h3]Accommodation: [/format]
There are several hotel options in Uttaradit, one that Rex and I have stayed at a few times is the Tonsom Hotel
GPS N17 37.424 E100 05.170 / Google Map
- they have a coffee shop located at the entrance to the hotel car park - aim for that and you can't miss the hotel
- there is some under cover parking
- they also have some seating in the foyer and a beer fridge..

[format=h3]Restaurant:[/format]
Approx 200 metres away is the TT Garden Mall... upstairs is The Living Room Bar and Bistro
- excellent food, open until midnight
- Google Map location

Uttaradit 31 July 2019.

Tropical storm Wipha was inbound and the weather forecast look totally fearsome.
After sorting out new Givi Box keys I set off from Chiang Mai around 10.45AM
As luck would have it I caught up to the Ambassador's group of riders at the PTT near Den Chai.

A lengthy coffee stop followed by a plan to stop at the Khao Plung Sala View Point.

Whenever using R11, south from Den Chai I always stop at the sala viewpoint restaurant to pay my respects to the shop keeper who was the first on the scene, at my orange crush bus accident 25 years ago.

I almost lost my leg in the little tangle with 100 stitches in my left leg, between the knee & groin. A huge amount of blood was lost & the people at the accident never thought I would survive, but I did & kept on riding = it's great to be alive.

Onto to Uttaradit & Kay's GPs map seemed to have some difficulty in finding the hotel. However all's well that ends well and we all arrived in Uttaradit DRY, much to our surprise.

The Kiwi Cruiser ex Mae Sarieng was on hand to great the slower riders from Chiang Mai.

The dinner venue recommendation - The Living Room - was a beauty & within walking distance of the Tonsom Hotel.
A magic evening ensued with the restaurant to ourselves.
Food / service / music were all good

The singer finished work & the party ended so everyone left.
One group turning left & one group turning right, but the group following the singer never reached their desired destination, getting side tracked on the way.
And well the other group got in even later, surveying several Uttaradit night spots = we shall return.

Departure day from Uttaradit, the Kiwi Cruiser headed off at first light back to Mae Sarieng.
Richard Na Ched Yot, headed south & the rest of the group headed North. Heineken To Nan & the balance to Chiang Mai in 2 groups again.
Overall a super time & incredibly no riding in the rain.
I did however seem to pick up a nasty head cold back in Chiang Khong which has layed me low for a few days.

Looks like a good time was had by all - Even the Weather Gods smiled.

It was a great night and Tonsom House was superb, great value for money..............................The weather gods never smiled on me for my ride from Chiang rai to Den Sai, it was the wettest day for about 3 x months, and it rained from when I left home until I met the boys at Den Sai, and then it was fine for the ride into Uttaradit.

I found out that afternoon that the area around Pong to Chiang Muan had flash flooding this morning, thats the exact route i took, lots of water running everywhere, including over the roads at places, only about 4 to 6" though. On my return journey the weather was fine and the rivers were flowing, hard to believe when I went through here a few weeks back that the water was hardly moving in these rivers.
