Just in case you have family or friends that work for Japanese companies..

One of my former staff emailed me.. He works at Denso.

Apparently for a limited time (The document is 4 pages long and all in Thai).
Denso staff and mostly likely others are entitlted to a rather large discount from Honda.

CRF 250L
RRP 135,000 THB

Discount 37,660 THB

That is a CRF250 for 97,340 THB

Sorry, but have to say no.. Pretty sure there would be restrictions on the sale..
Last thing Honda would want is staff selling on discounted bikes..
Don't want him to have any trouble with his employer.

But does make me think that there may be some discounts / promo's coming up for the general public.

Had one of my staff translate the document..

47,000 baht discount if you pay by installments over 30 months..

6,000 baht discount if you pay cash up front.

it will likely end up about the same as the 6k baht discount when buying upfront. as we all know interest rates in Thailand are often priced for those who are exceedingly bad at math.

latest reports are that 130k is now a price once can expect to get pretty much anywhere...

I got to hear the offer as well, valid for staff only. However when a Thai friend wanted to buy one through his GF, who is HR staff, it turned out to be extremely 'complicated'. He gave up...
