Lots of torque, 100 MPG. 160 kph should be fast enough. In remote location can siphon fuel from any passing pickup.

Great bullet-proof engines with lotsa torque.
Heavy frame with spar going over the engine making them top heavy.
Suspension wasn't great but fixable with modern gear.
More of a design exercise, most probably inspired by the A/T, Tenere & GS's of the time.
I don't think there are any in LoS though, as Tiger Mk1 pre-dates the short period
when there was a Triumph dealership in the late 1990s early 2000.

...if you can find a pick-up in a remote location! ;-)

But with 100 mpg you should be able to go remote and back.
