impossible to find cheap sportsbike in chiang mai?

Hi,

I am new to the forum aswell as to riding sportsbikes (only 1 year)
I want to buy a vbr 400 or similar in descent shape, here in chiang mai.
I have been to many bike shops around town, but there is nothing below 150000bht.
My budget is max 100000, but preferably 80000bht.

can anybody help me out?

VBR = VFR???

With your budget why not try a CBR150? Trade up when you have some more money.

sorry, I meant cbr 400. I know about 2-3 cbrs in that price category,
but they're all not in chiang mai :(

Are you not able to travel to look at the CBR's in other parts of the Kingdom? If you don't want to ride it to Chiang Mai you can always have it shipped via Thailand Post for only a few thousand baht.

Of course you'll want to do your homework before you go, but sometimes you can find very good deals if you're willing to travel a bit.

Hi Amon,

Did you have a go to Piston Shop?
I passed by there recently, and I think Khun Watit had one or two in shop (or similar)... The shop is "behind" Tesco Lotus North, on Asadatorn road by the flower market, among cars shops... Phone number: 0819524433

I'm a little surprised you can't find... A lot of these popular bikes in CNX. And I guess many for sale... but sometimes not in sight. Speak with riders you meet in town and ask them, and "do" every little shop you can see... even in some back yard!

80 KB, I think you can find, even with green book and not so bad condition. But if you can, don't go in a hurry...

I just realize you say CB-R... and I was thinking CB... :oops:

Can't help for CBR, not so much here.
As said Tony, easier to find in BKK...
