Lao Border Crossings

Hi there... got time off for a Lao trip starting Dec 4-12 or thereabout... Coming From ROi Et... I saw a thread here saying that Thai Customs, etc, would be closed 4-6 Dec due to Kings Birthday holiday... do they really close the border for 3 days,
