We rode on, up the 1217 to the 101 northeast. Then turned off north at Bahn Fung Min onto a minor road.

Just after this the tarmac road was completely broken up and it was steep.

We had come to a resting place on the far side of the pass but waited quite some time for the other bikes to arrive... actually they had to push each bike up the broken surface..

After the rest of the team got over the top of the pass, we rode on up to the 1091 at Bahn Luang and made it into a restaurant just as a thunderstorm and heavy rain came through.

Ah, the boot waterproofs are out.

We arrived in Nan city and checked in to the Bahn Nai Wiang hotel and very comfortable it was too.

We went down to the Nan River side for dinner.

Next morning, K Ming had a low battery problem, which K Berm quickly sorted by jumping from his own battery.

After this, we had to say Goodbye. Simon & Ian rode north, back up to Chiang Rai, via the 1148 & 1155, great roads.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team headed south back to Bangkok.

Oh, K Manat has a broken clutch cable.. but easy enough to sort with a spare inner cable.

Something else happened, with the Bonnie, not sure what...? Seemed to take a while to sort out..

Clutch slipping...?

1654480117024.jpg

Seems that K Ming ran out of petrol here..

Finally, the Bangkok riders got home at about 02:30 the next morning. Congratulations to all.

Thank you to everyone that came, it was another great classic bike ride.
Just marvellous to see all the bikes on the road together.
We got lucky with the weather this year, just one short rain storm.

We all look forward to the next meeting in the cool season. Sawadee Khrap.

Excellent, Ian. It looks like a great ride, filled with all of the breakdowns / experiences that make it an adventure and memorable.
Thank you for sharing with us.
