Mae Sai.

Yeesun Hotel.

Three hundred metres from the border crossing on the road that goes left along the river through the market. Good rooms for only 400 baht. Bikes locked inside at night, high pressure showers, and big mirrors above the bed for the romantics.

1 minute up the road from the Yeesun.
More suited to the people who just want a good clean room without any frills.
Nuan has about 6 new rooms, 3 with their own bathroom for 300bht a night. TV with 140 channels in each room.
Secure location for the bikes & her own cafe down the road.
Her english is good & she can help, or helped us, with taxis & info.

Yeesun was asking 500 Baht a night! There was no one at EQ Rooms. Right opposite to EQ, a fairly new place AQ House seemed inviting. 300 Baht for rooms on the ground floor & 400 Baht for the rooms on the 1st floor. It has secure parking (shutters down at 23:00) and free Wi-Fi. The rooms are new and tidy. The bathrooms are spotless. The showers are forceful and hot (6000 W heater).

Maybe I will try this one next time. I usually try to get out of downtown Mae Sai as soon as possible, but this is here if needed. I spoke with a man who told me it was just a few hundred baht and very simple.

A new find

the LEO Hotel

305443=22276-GTR-LeoHotel-MaeSai-07.jpg

In the main street, left hand side just before the big Piyapon Hotel
There are rooms in the main building plus a few at ground level in the car park at the back.

305443=22277-GTR-LeoHotel-MaeSai-02.jpg

We opted for the ground level ones at the back.

Parked right outside the door

305443=22278-GTR-LeoHotel-MaeSai-01.jpg

The rooms are bright 'n clean

305443=22279-GTR-LeoHotel-MaeSai-06.jpg

small & cosy,

305443=22280-GTR-LeoHotel-MaeSai-03.jpg

but we found the aircon a tad noisy & too cold at night!

We had room 103, but would try another room next time because of the aircon.

The large beside mirror was enjoyable.

305443=22281-GTR-LeoHotel-MaeSai-05.jpg

The bathroom has very good strong water pressure & a good hot water system.

& the price - 600 baht a night.
Top value for money in Mae Sai I thought.
