Nuvi 1340 not working with 2012 / 2013 maps

my wifes Thai bought from Esri in 2009 Nuvi 1340 was updated to 2012 maps and it worked Ok for a while but now its sending her to the wrong place all the time and 2013 map wont work at all its totally 3D and the old Nuvi cant handle it
