Was authored by an Irishman who relocated to Koh samui sometime prior to 2000. Ther book is a humorous tongue in cheek account of his daily life on the island. Koh Samui sounded very much the fantasy island. Made curious by his book, (it was 2005) I took a vacation on the island. Over the 5 years since 2000 much had changed. It was bustling with activity and development. The good thing was that informative literature were readily available and the local council published a community magazine that keeps an eye on the island's environment and provides non entertainment update on the latest.
The Princess village was really nice. The Wave Samui Bar & Restaurant: rooms at 400 baht with a great collection of books. Owner is Irish, i think. The tattoo artists and Nepali painters were rather fascinating. Of course, Jon custom made 3 suits and returned to CA totally pleased with his new clothes.
