Police in the UK on Can Am Spyders!

I was sent this today. Expensive Vehicle for the Police. But of Course I see on the News seems Police in England only Use the Most Expensive Vehicles? BMW, Range Rover, etc. Although the Spyder is fast it will be Trapped in Traffic same as a Car! Here is the Full Article:

I see that just 2 of them are on loan to the police for a month and they are using them in a Road safety campaign. I do not imagine they will be placing any orders.
They obviously need fast safe cars and BMW's etc are not as pricey in the UK as here. The UK police use quite a range of less exotic cars, including Ford Escorts, which are cheap in the UK and a number used on the motorways and major routes are totally unmarked, hidden lights and aerials. Sole job to patrol the roads and catch unwary speeding or careless driving motorists. I am really glad I am here in Thailand, where it often seems OK to overtake a marked police car even if they are already at the speed limit. Amazing Thailand.
