Road update bordercrossing Ban Prakkad (Called Prum in Cambodia) to Siem Reap

In my previous post I mentioned the good quality of the paved roads from Ban Prakkad via Battambang to Sisophon.
Now, one year later I took that road again, to travel to Siem Reap, and I could not believe my eyes.

Once you have passed Pailin on your way to Battambang, there are parts now without any asphalt left, and deep surprise potholes elsewhere.
Last year this was smoothly paved, not one pothole.
Between Battambang and Sisophon it is even worse, at some parts I would have preferred to ride a dirt bike in stead of my Honda 500.

All this within one year, I wonder where the road contractors came from...

Between Sisophon and Siem Reap, it is much better, apart from (unfinished) road repairs near Siem Reap.

But even if you are riding a nice piece of road, there may be potholes in the other lane that you can't see but will notice because traffic will be heading your way, on your lane.
A bit scary by times.

I thought I better post this before someone takes these roads based on my earlier recommendation.
