David, yes there really is no better road around. i had to cut that video down from over 40 mins of footage, so the curves just go on and on.

p.s t-shirt is already at the printers to commemorate this road!!

orders through me or happyfeet.
200baht for the cotton version
500baht for the silk version.( personally recommended ).

Can't go wrong with the 1148 Franz!
Still waiting to see what the other SSR Hooligans want to do- I wouldn't mind exploring some places I've not yet been, such as Mae Salong, but if they want to go to Nan that would be great as well.
All good! Bought a cheap little video camera at Pantip yesterday but not yet had a chance to try it out. I think you'll be amazed to see how far you get that big FJR over in the corners- wicked fun to watch!

For the video recording, what cameras and equipment do you guys use. Do you use a specific video device or are there combination of 'point and shoot' style with video collection which would work.

tony,

the camera is the american GoPro series. it comes with all the appropriate mounts for helmet, tank, or whatever you want to stick it on too.
i bought mine for 9,500baht here in chiang mai, bangkok would probably be cheaper.

So enough of this nanny pavement footage, when are you going to get behind bars that are gripping a 21" front wheel instead of a 17" and show us some true Honk, in the bushes upside down and sideways stuff in the dirt?? Your fan club deserves it!!

justin, a dirty video is in the pipeline.
however, at the moment i am sans dirtbike so it will have to wait.
maybe not that long though as the future for thailand is looking distinctly orange at the moment.........

tony, the 1148 has the best surface, the best variety of corners, very little traffic, and its over 100kms long. this is why its the best in north thailand. other surfaces are just as good but dont have the corners or length of the 1148.

Very cool video, and the helmet camera mount is about as perfect as you can get.

Funny thing though..... after the video played, the YouTube recommendation that popped up was "Life in a Thai Jail!"

tony, please dont forget to ride the 1081 heading south from bo kluea.
the surface rivals 1148 and reallt ought not to be missed.
