Hello fellow Motorcyclist's I am looking for maps of Malaysia and the region for my Garmin, any and recommendations welcome, when I loved in Vietnam I did not have too much luck with the Garmin south east asia map. Do the Garmin map provide better and up to date coverage for Malaysia and Thailand? I do not mind getting lost, however do like my major connection points to work

OSM is nice in that you do not need data.
Even works in a fone without a SIM card
If you have the route in the fone already

Thank you, I will dig into both of them, my GSA should arrive first week of next month and I want to be as prepared as possible

I found the hard copy road maps really useful. Planned and mapped out my borneo trip using a detail road maps of malaysia. The non paved roads and off roads & private roads for bike access were mapped out. Suprisingly a lot of it can b seen on google maps too. A hard copy map is almost necessary where mobile data is poor or spotty.

Hi, Lars.
I'm not sure that this helps, but I live in Malaysia and have a Garmin Zumo, but never use it. Googlemaps, Waze, and MapsMe have it so well covered that I haven't bothered with the Garmin.
