You can get them from the Land Transport department down R108, if you have a Thai Driving licence.
The cost is minimal & takes 48 hours I think.

Anyone got a International Driving Permit in Thailand?
Has anyone recently applied for and got a International Driving Permit in Thailand using their Thai Driving/Motorcycle licence ? Where,how much, procedure,what docs needed? My local Motor Transport Office (Thailand) is less than helpful and it might be easier to go somewhere else to try.

or do you want to have for use inside Thailand
If you want an IDP and have a thai driving license do as David writes.
If you have a driving license from your home country you have to get an IDP from there, not in Thailand

I have been looking into this topic recently because the rules for International Driving Permits seem to vary from country to country. From what I understand, carrying both your national driving licence and an IDP is often recommended, especially when renting a vehicle abroad.
I also found that checking official documentation requirements before travelling can save a lot of confusion, as some countries and rental companies have their own policies regarding foreign licences.
