Hi Bikers,
I'm planning a trip to Siem Reap and I'm looking for the right documentation to avoid any problems at the border, which will be Poipet.

I therefore ask you if anyone can help me and give me all the info I need to prepare my trip well.

Thanks in advance guys,

Ciao,
Renzo

I have friends that live in Cambodia and I usually make several trips there each year from Thailand and I made my last one about one month ago. I usually cross at the Koh Kong crossing but this last time I crossed at the Ban Pakard/Pailin crossing. I’ve never crossed at the Poipet crossing because I’ve always heard that it is almost impossible to get a car or motorcycle through Thailand customs there. YMMV. Also I’ve heard that it is fairly easy to cross one crossing north of the Pailin crossing at the Ban Laem/Daun Lem checkpoint.

All you need are your passport, motorcycle, motorcycle green book, and Cambodia requires you to have some way to turn off your headlight during the day. I’ve started taping my headlight which is easiest unless you plan on riding at night in Cambodia. It usually only takes about 15-20 minutes to get your bike through but if you have never done it before and aren’t familiar with the procedure it might take a little longer. My advice would be to avoid the Poipet crossing, with all of the negative things that I have heard about getting a bike across there they can't all be wrong :).
