4001, a short loop in Pua.

A 50km loop in the Pua area. I had not been in the area for several years, and coffee shops and selfie shops everywhere.
About 10km good gravel road in the middle.

A little off topic but im planning a ride around Pua etc. Has anyone recently ridden the R4023/4017? On google maps it looks like a loop, coming back on its self. Its north of Chiang Klang and heads east as R4023 then changes to R4017. Cheers Wazza

The 4017 looks interesting, but may become challenging.
A month ago we did the loop on this report and found it very enjoyable. It has patches of ordinary dirt road, and our CBX500's did it easily.

Thanks Greg, I will have the wife on the back of the Strom so won't get too adventurous. If it gets too hairy, I'll turn around and poke up another road. Planning the ride over xmas/NY. Start Chiang Kham, Pua, Wiang Sa/No Noi, Dan Sai, Loei(NYE) and maybe Lampang and back via 1252 to CM.
