I've had my old REI half dome tent for longer than I can remember and having used it on 4 continents and all of last summer it was finally well and truly worn out. Nothing broken mind you, no holes, split seams or broken zippers, but the poles were starting to go and the waterproofing was showing its age and despite taping the seams water was still getting in to the tent during big storms, so time to retire the old Half Dome and look for something new.

Got a great deal on a new Marmot Limelight 2P Tent during REI's spring sale, set it up at home and first impression is positive.

Seems well made, very well ventilated, easy to set up, includes a ground sheet and gear loft (fancy name for the piece of fabric attached to the ceiling where you can stash stuff you want off the ground) ;)

Haven't actually camped in it yet so hard to give a real review, but one thing I noticed is that at 5 pounds 7 ounces it's a bit heavy for a "backpacking" tent, but that's not so much of a concern on a motorcycle.

Next up, the REI Kindercone Sleeping Bag-
