After a very pleasant evening, with a romantic dinner at the edge of the Nan river (Valentine's Day).
We spent the night at Nan Kasinpat home resort. Warm welcome, well equipped room, very comfortable bedding, high speed wifi and breakfast (Thai) and unlimited coffee included for 500 baht. Parking uncovered for the motorbike.
The morning we visited three temples in Nan: Wat Hua Wiang Tai, Wat Phumin and Wat Chae Haeng.
The Wat Hua Wiang Tai :
Our favorite temple is the stunning Wat Phumin, one of the most beautiful and interesting that I have seen so far. If from outside, this temple is not extraordinary, the interior is really worth a visit and if there is a temple to see in Nan, it is in my opinion that one. The murals are beautifully preserved.
and the Wat Chae Haeng
We then went to Na Noi where we stopped to visit the natural site of Sao Din Na Noi sand stone concretions, located only a few minutes from Na Noi. This little "Brice canyon" worth the trip. The sand stoned are formed from the wind and the rain to amazing forms.
We were the only tourists to visit the site at the time of our visit. I advise you, as far as possible, to privilege this visit early in the morning after a night in Na Noi or at the end of the day to avoid the heat and the strong light your photographs. Unfortunatly, for us, it was really hot and sunray was strong in early afternoon.
After this stop at Na Noi, we crossed the Si Nan National Park by the 1083 road (very nice, winding and valet road and recently redone where we had the pleasure to see the Nan River in several places).
We then proceeded south to Fak Tha by the 1047 road. Between Fak Tha and Nam Pat, we made a small incursion in the fields on a track and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. We made overnight stop at Nam Pat at Takayai Resort for which we fell in love with the value for money but also for the warm welcome of the owners. I will report on this spring in the section provided.
