G'day All,

Had a brilliant weekend again at Baan Ricky with the guys..
The previous visit we discussed training.. I love the training and get a lot out of it.
Push yourself.. Do the same things again and again.. Rather than just hacking away in a hurry to ride the trails.

Ricky had Lewis coming and a two day training event was put on.
4000 baht for two days.. Very fair and great fun.

We started off on the track..
Lewis really wanted to see how we approached the jump as it is a steep up from the other side..
We could jump if we wanted to...

This is as good as it gets for me LOL

Here is Han's our 68 year old legend from the gang in Pattaya..

Lee on the mighty CRF.. We had only met once before briefly.
Nice to catch up properly and ride together over the weekend.

In the afternoon we went for a ride.. Try and find some Enduro type tracks and obstacles to practice on.
It is lovely out this way.. Had to stop and take this pic.

Bit of rocky mountain practice..

Some hill climbs and you have to pop the front tyre up over the pipe..

LRM_EXPORT_20170513_173838-X2.jpg

Back to Baan Ricky and practice going down steep areas.
This doesn't look too bad from here.. but when you are at the top.. It looks like a cliff drop LOL.
( The next day we stopped at a few different places and tackled even more challenging ones.. going up!)

The next day a few different things like cornering etc around the MX track.. Then out to find more natural locations..

First a river crossing and it was up as a lot of rain last night.

Then we practice tearing through the mud and coming to a stop as quickly as possible.. using 75% front brake.
Standing.. Not sitting.. so you keep control of the bike.. and the arse end doesn't go every where..

Absolutely soaked and covered in mud..

I
Great photos. Why you need additional training? From what I saw you are fantastic enduro rider...

I am pretty ordinary. Shouldn't compare me with Chiang Mai Phil lol...

Love training as I am not a risk taker really. So training makes you face all the things you avoid and try different things and try to drop the bad habits you pick up along the way.

Plus it is fun when you all try and try again with some good laughs

Brilliant stuff Brian.

You have gotta be the best advertisement for Husqvarna going around.

I reckon you should have been the tutor for the river crossings……no one does them like you.

The last day we were riding and training.
We wanted to do a big ride in the afternoon after a small ride in the morning.

My idea to go up to the river crossing after breakfast. It is a decent little crossing.
By chance we found that great muddy area to practice stopping with mostly front brake just after the river crossing.
We were going to do this at Baan Ricky.. But it would not have been a good on the grass..

When we arrive at the river.. I don't know why.. But a lot of people looked at me...
( Ok my idea - Guess I go first. )

So got off and walked in a bit.. Make sure the best patch to cross hadn't changed with the rain over night and the river rising up a fair bit. .

I went first.. The rest took it in their stride..
Just the first bit is deepest and lots of gravel.. so hard to keep the bike going in the right direction..
Pulls you to the deeper area..

Great area to ride.. A real mixed bag.. While nothing as crazy technical as Pattaya..
You have more mud, more flowing rides.. plus the epic trail up to the Border Patrol Police on the border with Burma.
- Guess you could call it.. Adventure trail riding around Sai Yok Yai..

Cheers
Brian
