Border crossing cambodia-thailand with a vietnamese bike

Hi I am planning on buying a vietnamese bike this week in Saigon and heading to cambodia then on to thailand where I will finish my trip. I've heard it's no problem getting into cambodia with the bike, but cannot seem to get a clear answer about thailand? I've heard people saying it's no bother, then others saying they had to sign papers to say they would export the bike from thailand or face a $2000 dollar fine!

can anyone clear this up for me? I will have the blue owners card for the bike and a full UK drivers licence(I know that probably doesn't count for much)

apologies if this has been asked already but I have searched for hours and can't find a clear answer! :eh:

I'm in a similar situation and would love to find out the answer. I'm an american without an international drivers license who plans to buy in vietnam then go laos, thailand, cambodia, and back to vietnam to sell. The logistics (paperwork) scares me the most.
