although I would not want to be the first to use it....found this searching the net, only good at one crossing w/ Thailand and one w/ Viet Nam.

They've been around for quite a while now; plenty of people have used the service without a problem. I'd say do it if you're crossing overland to avoid the typical border guard scams, but not much point if you are flying into SR or PP
