It's Time! The Chiang Mai ToyRide Main Event 2010 is here......... :D

TAKE A RIDE. GIVE A TOY. BRING A SMILE. Chiang Mai ToyRide 2010: helping children in need with charity motorcycle parade, party, food, live music, games and toy giveaway!

All motorcyclists are invited to join the event whether their bikes are large or small. And there’s no admission charge: just bring along a new toy (or more than one) to warm a needy child’s heart.

Annual Charity Motorcycle Ride and Party on Sunday, 21 February 2010
• Motorcycles of all sizes and riders of all ages welcome! • 9:45 am – meet at Tesco Khamtien for the ride/parade through Chiang Mai click here to View Map)
• Noon – party at X-Centre near Mae Rim with music, games, food and toy giveaway

• Admission/donation: one new toy and a great big smile!

• Remember, it's not just about toys. Although

There will be prizes awarded for the "Best Dressed (with toys) Motorcycle". 10 bikes of all types will be chosen at Tesco Lotus and voted on at the X-Centre by registered participants of the toy ride.

This year we are expecting 90 children, including a number of kids from the School for the Deaf.

We need not only stuffed animal toys, but sports equipment, and other toys for girls and boys.

Entertainment will be provided by our own Jonadda and a number of bands from The Guitarman.

Food will be available from Miguel's Mexican Food, Tuskers Bar, and the X-Centre (including Thai food).

See you there????? :?: 8)

For more information visit our website; http://www.chiangmaitoyride.com

• Remember, it's not just about toys. Although this is a great fun event, we use the proceeds from our sponsors and your donations to carry out programs throughout the year= See Past Events

 On Saturday, 20, Feb we will be setting up the site at the X-Centre Zorb Ball beginning approximately 2:30PM. If you would like to show up and give us a hand, it would be greatly appreciated. Even setup is fun!

Have a great day guys. I am very jealous to not be there and see it for myself. Looking forward to the photos.

Maybe a bit of helmet cam stuff if anyone on the ride owns one? Would be cool and great PR stuff to let us see the ride and party in all of its glory.

Cheers

It's going to be a cool, easy Sunday morning ride...

5 traffic police bikes & 1 Tourist Police car for an escort through town, south along the river to the outer ring road, then west to the canal road, then north along the canal to Mae Rim & the X-Centre Zorb Ball park.

53 kms & a nice set up at the Zorb Ball Park with John Nash & The Guitar Man band(s) providing some great music through out the afternoon.

Many thanks to the organizers, the day was a huge success. It seemed like there were bikes everywhere from near and far. Great venue, great food, great music ,great people and most importantly a great cause. Did anybody do a count of the actual number of bikes that took part ?

Thanks, Schackster and everyone who attended or contributed. Our count was 320 motorcycles. It appeared to be a great day for everyone. There will be full reports forthcoming, but tonight I am taking a break.

Thanks to all you guys and gals that put on this year's toy ride. Great time... great cause. Something about the rumble and smell of hundreds of motorcycles that just makes the day a good one.

Anybody posting photos yet?

Yes indeed a well organised event, well done to the committee.

I shall let Dave have a cd with the originals on but I have in the meantime uploaded the photos I took to my site here ...

You will see 2 sets, 1 at Tescos & another load taken at the picnic. The latter should finish uploading overnight !

Another Toy Ride we enjoyed very much, this years ride through town was much better than last years, distance longer and more convenient roads. Thanks to the organisers and again to Mr. & Mrs. Bungy for making this happen. Cheers, Franz

Please DO NOT wait for 2011. Our concept is that with sponsors fees and donations from this event we can do our PlayGround Plus and other programs through the year. We hope to see you and many others at these events which will be announced on the CMTR web page and GT-Rider over the coming months. Have a look here...............CMTR Past Events

As a CNX resident, I will certainly participate as often as possible  . I am looking forward to announcements on GTR and CMTR. Nothing better than having fun and the satisfaction to give back a little something to people in our adoptive country. Yes, it is possible to make them smile even more ... or smile again.

Thanks for the compliments folks (both here & on my website). Your comments though I feel are misplaced!

It's the camera that takes good photos

Congrats and sincere thanks to all involved in putting on such a great event. I'm sure that all the kids - big and small loved it! Can't wait for next year's and hope my schedule allows me to participate in some of the other events throughout this year before next years "biggie".

Cheers,

Pikey.
