Crossing Into Laos At Chiang Khong. Some Questions

Hi, me and a couple friends are planning on crossing into Laos at Chiang Khong border crossing in the next few days for the first time and have a couple questions.
1. Is this border crossing open to motorcycles?
2. Can we only get 2 weeks validity or a month?
3. Is there someplace in Chiang Khong who can help us with all our paperwork required to cross the border?

Yes it is open to motorbikes.
You will probably get a month - ask for it.

My days are flexible to cross so was wondering if weekdays are better than weekend to cross?
Or is every day pretty much the same traffic crossing the border?
