After almost 20 years here, on Thurs 7th May 2009 the Snail's moving onto Australia for a bit to make some money & hopefully come back again.

During his time here David Lek has been one of my best mates - always totally honest, sincere & reliable.
IMHO he is also the best bike mechanic around & my AT with 240,000 kms on the clock is testament to his expertise. He is also a bloody good rider on any bike & always leaves me for dead.

I am sure many other people will say the same positive things about David Lek, aka the Snail.

So it's the Snail's going away "Party" at
The Kafe
Tuesday 5th May 2009.

I second what Davidfl says. I can honestly say I am saddened by Snail's departure, but I wish him well in Australia. Not only a great motorcyclist and mechanic, David Lek is one of only a few I have trusted 100% as a true friend. Best of luck in the future, and see you when you get back.

100% Trusted??? Hell no!! I've seen that bugger looking mighty dodgy on more than one occasion trying to sneak out of a bar with something hanging off his arm :wink: .

Always nice to have another guy thats as blind as a bat in the group to borrow glasses off of. Seriously gonna miss his dry wit, good company, and enthusiasm for riding bikes. Hopefully the bugger gets his rear end back over here soon.

Thanks to all those guys & gals who turned up for David Lek's send off. It was a good night & Lek enjoyed himself.

An earlier GT Rider collection enabled a half baht of gold to be given to David in appreciation of his long friendship & 18 years taking care of GT Rider bikes in Chiang Mai. The Snail even made a short sweet speech.

Franz almost stole the night with his riding kit on..

Thank you once again to all those people who turned up to send off the Snail.

He flies into Perth to be picked up by the GT Rider's Mum at the airport. Lucky man yet again. :wink:

Thanks to all the people who took the time to turn up last night and to David FL for organising the whole thing. I may not have said as much but I appreciated the company, beer, food and gifts in that order.My late checking out of Thailand means it will take a bit longer to get back again but with a bunch of good friends here and my Ducati parked up and waiting, hopefully I'll be checking in again sooner than later.
