This is my first Post in this Forum. I have followed many good reports in the last couple of years with big interest. 2 years ago I took a 4 week trip on a rented Yamaha 135 cc (totally Top Gear) from Pattaya to Luang Prabang, going thru Chanthaburi, Aranyaprathet (where the “nice” policemen refused to let me enter Cambodia on a rented bike without a hefty bribe), Surin, Ubon Ratchathani, Pakse, Savannaketh, Vientiane, Kasi, Luang Prabang, Udon Thani and Khon Kaen. It was in the rainy season 2010. And it was rainy…..The rain put me back, so my original timetable was totally ****ed up by the time I came back to Thailand over the Friendship Bridge. I had to take the nighttrain with my small bike from Khon Kaen to Bangkok, so I could deliver the bike back to my favorit renting place in Pattaya. Allthough the weather dident go my way, it was such a great trip. It has to be done again. With another route. And a bigger bike
Everything is ready for a new journey. I arrive in BKK june 28 and will pick up my pre booked bike (Kawasaki KLX 250cc) from Bangkok Bike Rental june 29. June 30 the trip will start, going to Auytthaya, Kanchanaburi and work my way up to Chiang Mai, Chaing Rai, entering Laos and further to Luang Namtha, Luang Prabang, Vientiane and back to Bangkok in a not planned route yet.
I will contribute to this Forum (this time) with pictures and fairy tales from this upcoming event. I hope to make many new friends from this Forum. I am really looking forward to this trip. Cant wait to get back to many of my favorite spots in Thailand and Laos. Sorry for the wrong spelling etc.
