This how I cross the border on 25/12/2011. Keep in mind this can change quickly.

On the thai side:

- register to counter 2 (100 bath). Have als to explain that a bike
has no passport but a green book. They need 3 copy's from the green book.

- Than have to give the bikepapers to the counter, in brown on the picture next to counter 2 (free)

- Now you can drive in Laos

on the Laos Side;

- Make visa on arrival (35$) to counter 5

- than I could pick up the papers to counter 7

- Than go to the customs office to counter 8

- Make the insurance papers next door (door under the red flag), I payed 100 bath/7days

- A 100m down the road you have a check point where you need to register (free)

- you are now in Laos
