Vientiane (VNA) – The Lao and Japanese governments have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), under which Japan will help Laos build a road connecting Laos ’ southern Attapeu province with neighbouring Cambodia and Viet Nam.
Japan will provide funding for the surveying, designing and evaluating of economic and environment impacts of the project, which are scheduled to be completed within 10 months. Consequently, the two sides will ink an agreement on the construction of the work.
Japan will also help maintain and upgrade the Laos’s Roads No. 16A and No. 18A to facilitate transportation between Attapeu with Champassak and other provinces in south Laos.
