Hi Sylvie,
In Malaysia, there are two main route ie east coast and west coast. If you wanna try the hiway direct straight to Singapore easily then you may use the west coast route via Bukit Kayu Hitam. But if you want to enjoy some of truely asia experiences then you may divert to east coastal route. You may choose from both.
I don't know where to find the rental bike in Kuala Lumpur but you may buy WTR magazine and it has the ad about the bike rental. Hpe you enjoy your visit in Malaysia.

Hi Sylvie

It only takes 4 hours ride from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. That is if you're taking the boring North South Highway. The old road is smaller and will probably take you twice the time but it'll bring you along the small towns and villages and you can find some of the most authentic Malaysian food.
