Merry Christmas to All,
Can anyone point me in the right direction to purchase a map of Issan. I have been looking around book shops and the like in CM but are still empty handed. Didn’t find anything suitable on Lazada either. Just after a map similar to the GTR maps for a bit of route planning. Maybe Wayne could help out. Will be down that way toward the end of the month.

@Wazza if you get round my way, stop by for a coffee, if I am not there let the guy behind the counter know your there and he will let me know, my place is near the coffee shop.

I believe I have put maps and google earth shots on my local area trip reports mate, have a look it may give you some ideas.
Let me know if you need some info, although I am still learning the area myself and I am not a font of knowledge 5555
As for maps, as of yet I have not got a paper map for my local areas, David’s link look promising
I have tried to attach a KML file which you should be able to open with google earth and basecamp, let me know if it works, I have others
I can recommend the 12 from Khon San to Wang Thong, the 2216 from where it starts on the 12 all the way along it. The 2014 from where it starts on the 21 all the way through to Dan Sai, also the 2113 from Dan Sai to Na Haeo. The 2195 along the River Hueang was good then it picks up the Mekong all the way to Chiang Khan. Then its the 211 heading east.

Thanks Wayne, in Pua for a couple of nights, then heading south via R1256, R1081 to south of Nan. Two nights free before NYE Loei. That R1148 is a magnificent road, love it every time I ride it. Looking up the R4023 just north of Chiang Klang tomorrow. Leaving some ballast in the room to make things a bit easier. We will see how we fair, yes I will report.
