The last few weeks we have been having unseasonal rain and cooler weather.
(Though I fear today it has come to an end)
The previous few weeks missed out on riding as friends visiting. (Plus tired of the dust storms created by a big group)
Then getting a bunch of parts fitted to the Husky.
The guys asked when I was coming down as the tracks are perfect.. So it was time..
Not to be disappointed.. Brilliant riding for this time of the year.
This was also a big test to ride with the new Lectron Carb..
After installing at Moto45 in Bangkok.. Just ridden home.. That is it.
Fingers crossed and the new carb didn't disappoint..
The mileage much improved and the performance so much smoother.. more predictable.. rather than just going insane out of control.
Cornering in the sand a lot better.. as the bike doesn't take off at the wrong time etc... you get the idea..
All this and it was 150 km ride.. with fast sweeping sandy tracks as well as polo club hill and the bolder track over at Ban Chang.
Brilliant Day out with a great bunch of mates.
The fearless leader.. Phil Loth.
Down the steep hill after a climb up..
Someone crashed in front.. Pointed the camera behind me blindly, capturing Grant ready to descend.
Down and through the muddy sandy creek and back up..
I had to jump off and walk it up while crap was going every where as the husky sang..
This one was an obvious drop.. But there are a couple of spots in the long grass you can come unstuck..
If you went through with out checking..
Some of the guys waiting for everyone to clear the sand drops and quick sand.
We usually go down this way.. Steep rocky twisty path.
So this time we go up.. Not too bad if someone doesn't crash in front of you, leaving you perched at an angle.
Usually wait until the rider has gone and out of sight..
Ban Chang and on the way to the bolder track
We are going up here.. Camera lies.. Looks flatter and the rocks and ruts look small haha.
Paul, heading back down after having a go to get up.
Grant and Luke.
Phil
Grant made it up
Loads of big and small rocks in the ruts
some tried an alternate trail.. but ended up back on the main trail up
Easy at the top - Just like life ;-)
Hmmm.. Back out from that other track..
Mayhem...
Spike decided to tackle the hardest path.. did a good job to get this far.
Mean while.. The carnage continues
Luke giving Hans a helping hand.. What a legend.. Han's 68 years old and out here doing the hard yards..
Spike having a go on the easier track after two attempts at the hardest path
Man down.. Come around the corner and the bike with rider underneath is facing the wrong way.
All good and no injuries.
We did a few like this.. Up the road works embankment.. But this one had a 4 ft surprise ditch on the other side.. LOL
A few obstacles to keep it interesting
Another blast with the boys..
Plus the Lectron carb performed well.. Better mileage and improved the bike handling.
Early days.... still need a good few more rides.. but so far very happy.
Cheers
Brian
