Mr Pop of Pop Motorcycle fame in Chiang Mai has finally lost his four year battle with cancer & passed away in his sleep yesterday, 23 July 2017.

Pop was a legendary character in the biking world of North Thailand & S E Asia & was one of the very first big bike rental shops in Chiang Mai.

It was Pop's dynamism that propelled the big bike touring scene in the North, as he bought scores of new big bikes to be able to provide a fleet of bikes for the big time tour operators. The tour companies & overall biking scene owe a lot to Pop for his drive in really getting the ball rolling.

He was a tough character; & never gave up - evidenced by his four year battle with the big C. He fought right to end!

My condolences to Pop's family, close friends & staff.

Funeral prayers are being conducted nightly, at 8PM for 3 nights 24-26 July at Wat Prasat.

After some confusion with Pop's family they have agreed to this post.

There are 2 nights of prayers left at Wat Prasat, by at Phra Sing.
Everyone is invited to pay their respect to Pop.

Pop's son & family members would especially like to see riders participate in a funereal cortege on Thursday morning from Wat Prasat to the Chinese Cemetery in Doi Saket, because Pop would love this send off from his friends & ex customers. Riders should be at Wat Prasat at 10AM.

A very important guy in the touring and holiday biking scene in the north. So many of our guests rode up on Pop's rental bikes.

RIP Mr Pop and condolences to family and friends.

RIP Pop. You made big bike touring in the region possible for hundreds of riders; & the big bike tours companies would not be operating so well with out your drive.
You will be missed, but your business will continue with your son & good staff.

Many thanks to all the guys who came today.
Your presence was well appreciated by the family.
