The much anticipated trip to the Golden Land of Myanmar, probably the least well explored country in South East Asia. The crossing only restricted us to venture the town of Tachilek, east of Shan State.

And we're in. Cost us 500 baht for Visa on arrival, 100 baht for Motor Insurance and another 25 baht each for a fee which I have no clue what it's all about. Plus 1000 baht for the services of a guide per group.

Very interesting what you guys have done. Can you give us soem more details? From the insurance papers it looks like you were 5 days in Myanmar? How for could you ride in to the countryside or were you only allowed to stay in town.

Would like to know more if possible.

Not much luck on venturing further. We were only allowed to travel within Tachileik. We were told we could go on to the next town of Kyiang Tung but on public transport.
