There were many wide selection of rental bike in Kathmandu , such as Bajaj,Hero Honda,Yamaha Fz15 , R15 and many more :) ..I chose the Bullet.... :D Love the thumping sound !
Rented the bike from Thamel, Kathmandu . With no experience of riding a bike where gear lever on the right side of a bike , I had a hard time riding on the first day . :

First ay KTM - Mugling (a little town between Kathmandu and Pokhara)
Starting by buying gasoline which is well overpriced .Kathmandu always face a gasoline shortage. in the morning there will be 100s of bikes, cars waiting to fill up at the gas station. After 2 hours there is no more gas left . So i have to buy petrol from a local mechanic where they charged me double the price of the normal price :(( . I rolled out of Kathmandu about 13.00... The road from Kathmandu to Mugling is quite busy, big trucks and buses allllll the way ! but the nice things is I get to practice my gear shifting for a day :)D..

The scenery ...

Day 2

(Kathmandu - Bharatpur- Lumbini (Birth place of Buddha) )

The bike wouldn't start ... and the horn didn't work .Took the bike to Local mechanic , changes battery , put on new fuse :D
Ready to go again !!!

Must Agree with the others, Well Done Art and What an Adventure! Are You by Yourself? Brave move Renting an Old Enfield, I got one with a Left Hand gear Change when in India. As You say they sound good but lack Power but "when in Rome" as they say. Enjoy Mate. Top Stuff and it really looks like a Great Place!

Art you're a star !! What marvellous trip fotos & report !! Knew you'll enjoy that one very much........
Also funny that you decided for that indian Thumper, a pita sometimes to start but everywhere there's some Rajiv to repair that bike 55555.
Now waiting for Part 2, 3, 4, 5.........cheers, Franz
