Road conditions Vientiane to Chinese border

What is the road condition from Vientiane to Boten? Is it suited for non-enduro bike? What about a sports bike?

The road I am interested in is: Vientiane - Muang Phon Hong - Muang Phon Khoun - Luang Pha Bang - Oudomxay - Boten.

Is there a better route to Lao-Chinese border, perhaps?

the road from Vientiane to Boten is bitumen all the way. That means you can ride anything from a 50cc honda cub through to a Hayabusa. have fun.
