Road Construction on 107 North of Mae Rim

For those who don't know already there is about 15-20 kms of road construction south of Chiang Dao on 107. It's very passable but dusty and the slow trucks cause jams on the hills. If you are heading further north you might consider 1001 to Phrao and then go left on 1150 back over to 107 to bypass it all. I did it today and it was much faster with much less traffic. -Russ

Yes that stretch can test your patience if it's crowded, and your alternative route is definitely a lot easier on the nerves. Not only that but the scenery is gorgous as well.

As far as I can tell, it's really only a few hundred metres or so that's missing from the Chiang Dao by-pass, right near where the by-pass rejoins the main highway south of Chiang Dao. There's a dirt connector between the two sections.

Construction between Chiang Dao and Mae Taeng continues to be very dusty.
