I just rode from Changwat Phayao to ChiangMai via Doi Saket. There is a section where the road is under construction, and with heavy rain, the road is extremely slippery. I was riding 2018 Ninja 650 with Continental Trail Attack 2, and the rear wheel was sliding freely. Fortunately, following cars noticed my dilemma and gave me a wide berth. Luckily, I made it through. If I had known the road condition, I'd probably take the road to Lampang and on to ChiangMai.

Just rode it last week CRF250 on 17's
Surface wet with standing puddles everywhere.
Was great - got to pass all the other traffic as they were going very slow - 10k slow
No issues. Care is needed of course, all in the right wrist,

Most riders, who know about it, use R107 via Fang, or R1001 to Phrao, then back onto R118 at Wiang Pa Pao.
They've been at it for a long time now & the word incompetent comes to mind.

It has featured on GTR here before.

May I use the pictures of the road damage on your link, to warn other Thai riders?

Sure why not, but please credit GTR with a link to the report if you would.

I fell sorry for anyone caught out on it today & tomorrow with this weather.
