Road in Luang Namtha region passable??

Hi Guys!

I wanna take the road from LONG to Tha Luang and on to Vieng Phoukha in the Luang Namtha Region through the high mountains. But on the GT-Riders Map i see that it is a unconfirmed-status road. So, does anybody know how the road conditions are on this part?? Or is it not possible to cross the mountains on this road at the moment?

We (and another member a few days before us) tried it: the road north of Vieng Pukha is unpassable. There was a topic about it about 2 months ago. Some searching will get you to the details
Some fences, but finally a landslide make the road impassable, until now.
