I haven't seen any posts on the upcoming big rock event in the Sattahip Naval Base near Pattaya yet.
About 30 big ticket Thai acts are scheduled to perform from 4 pm on Saturday till 6 pm on Sunday. 8)
There are two major stages and a DJ tower plus a an outdoor movie theater and various activity areas spread over the 2 km long Hat Yao beach. From everything I have seen so far, this event appears exceptionally well organized [by Kratin Daeng/Red Bull]. I went to check out the venue over the weekend. The road to the beach is very clearly signposted already, and preparations are well in progress on the beach too.
There's a sizeable camp site. They also have hundreds of tents in varying sizes for rent, including equipment like sleeping bags and lamps. A total of 400 newly-built toilets and shower stalls are available all over the beach. :!:
Check out the official website at
http://motoring.asiaone.com/Motoring/Mo ... 24714.html. For ticket bookings go to http://www.totalreservation.com/concert_ticket_detail.aspx?id=9. Tickets for mere mortals are THB800 each. Most of the info is in Thai, but we all enjoy the convenience of inhouse translation services, don't we?
Although this is not exactly a bike week, I'm sure it'll attract a lot of bike enthusiasts.
