“Rimtaan Guesthouse” is still a favorite dwelling for GT-Riders. Some improvements are permanently made to the compound, as it was the case for ‘bungalow # 3’, recently enlarged. It is always a pleasure to chat with John, the knowledgeable owner and with his wife.

In addition to the favorite Rimtaan dwelling, and in case this guesthouse is fully booked, there are other accommodations in Thoed Thai.

I have quickly visited Gredpetch Guesthouse.
Rooms are between 350 – 500 THB. It is located near to the school, just before the road plunges down to the village.

Another bungalow place is located slightly up hill: “Phu Saeng Ta Wan Resort”. It was recommended by locals, but I did not visit it.

If the Rim Taan is full, your next best bet is the

Phu Saeng Tawan resort - Thoed Thai

A bigger resort catering to tour groups with a large parking area.

The bathroom has strong hot water = good enough in the cold season.

Clean, quiet & good value for money at 500 baht a night.

Rim Taan has been renovated now & all the bungalows & rooms have aircon.
The renovated aircon rooms away from the river.

Hi all,
We are a group of 3 riders planning to do a loop around the golden triangle next February 2020. I am trying to work out the best places to stay overnight and from the comments here Rim Taan looks like a great option.
What I would like to know is what is the best way to book accommodation? I have tried email and Facebook messenger but no response. Should I just call them?
Thanks!

Yes ring usually works best.
But you should be ok, ring when you get here.
Chinese New Year is January 25, so that week of mayhem should be over by February.
John's place is fabulous & a true hidden gem.

Thanks David, I will call to make the booking. BTW, I see that you ride a V-Strom 650. All three of us are renting these for our 7 day trip, I assume that you have no issues with the bike? Cheers Tony
