Hi Guys, many thanks for your all your kind wishes

Have meeting with doc, Friday to let me know resulsts, says may have to have a bit of Chemo.

Hospital room certainly a bit more up market than the back packers I am normally used to

I suppose there are some advantages of being sick, Elle's brother called in with a radio controlled Rossie bike for me.....
Now I had better check the wards and corridors for any young boys that I can race with they had better not have got a faster bike/car than me....

This is where Elle will be camped out for a week to attend to my 'needs'

Good on you mate - glad to see you making good use of the free wifi too. Have you got them to provide UBC for you for the MotoGP on saturday? ;)

Keep smiling and good luck for the chemo and keep us posted when you feel up to it.

Cheers,

Pikey.

You look ok, you write better than expected after such surgery John. All very good signs for your recovery.

BTW = Army in the hospital ? Is that because your secret VIP status is demanding 24h military protection ??

Cheers Pico

Well done TJ.

If you've got through that so well lets just hope there is not too much chemo. All the best.

Update:

DavidFL spoke with Johno this morning but asked me to post as he is not within reach of an internet shop. Basically the news is not too good. Apparently John needs radiation therapy and this will be daily for 6 weeks starting tomorrow as the condition of the tumor is severe.

Sorry, that's all I have at the moment but David will call again later as he is due to speak again to John this afternoon. I know that people will be keen for updates but it's probably not a good idea to call either John or Elle direct for the time being as they need time to digest stuff.

Johno, when you read this, keep smiling coz there's loads of people rooting for you and you can beat that sh*t for sure!

Cheers,

Pikey.

Update via David: John will start going to Bumrungrat hospital from tomorrow as an outpatient for his daily radiation therapy and will stay in a guesthouse in Khaosan rd for the duration. Apparently he also has well connected in-laws closeby and David said he sounds pretty upbeat so I expect that once he has settled, he will blag some free internet time and give us an update "from the horses mouth".

Cheers,

Pikey.

An update. TJ's camped at his in-laws in Bkk for a week & will now start the daily radiation treatment on Monday July 14th. John says that during the week he will phone some of the GT Riders.

John although the news are not what everyone expected or hoped for, I wish you good luck, endurance & physical strenght to fight this nasty disease. If you could email or pm me an address in Bangkok I will send you a lot of motorcycle publishings so you have something to fill the time while waiting for treatment; all in English. Anything I can do to help you, please do not hesitate and tell me too. Good luck, Franz

TJ's going to have internet from tonight, plus next Monday he moves into a small apartment on Sukhumvit Soi 1, close by to Bumrungrad hospital.
John's in good spirts, ready to start his treatment on Monday 14th, & says he is happy to take phone calls.

I saw TJ a few days ago in Bangkok, after his first chemo treatment & as to be expected he was a bit groggy.

John was in reasonable spirits, but missing contact from his GT rider mates, as he does not have internet where he is staying.
So if you have not SMS-ed or phoned TJ, pls drop him a line to keep him cheerful like we all know he can be.

Laugh, I escorted TJ back to his apartment after an orange juice in Sukhumvit Soi 1 where he is staying & right outside his room TJ felt the need to vimit (the chemo hitting home); & in the low light the nearest receptacle for TJ was the landlady's large fish bowl. Yuk! Out it came & in it went. We quickly bundled TJ into his room & closed the door. The lovely devoted Elle tucked him into bed & I snuck off down the soi. The next day the landlady was asking the tenants if anyone knew what killed her fish? TJ can manage a chuckle of two over this one & so do I!

Pls drop John a line, he's only just started his treatment & has quite a way to go. The more mates he knows are thinking of him the stronger he will be.
