I now only use a GoPro mounted on my helmet with a Gopole arm for self shots.
I find any head movements with a front facing camera mounted on the helmet exaggerated and undesirable. I now much prefer the GoPro Chesty mount for a more immersive and interesting point of view (having the handlebars in shot gives a greater sense of actually being there, riding the bike) and stability.
The GoPro Helmet front mount is only a J Hook buckle and short extension so you could always give it a try and if you don't like it, use the mounting parts for other applications.
